MUSUBI AIKIDO
“Aikido” ( ) is a Japanese Martial Art developed by Morihei “O’Sensei” Ueshiba. It is a method of self defense not at the expense of the opponent and is traditionally termed as the “Gentleman’s Fighting Art”.
The principal objective of Musubi Aikido
Practitioners Assn. of the Philippines, Inc.
(hereinafter “Musubi Aikido”) is to propagate
Aikido according to the principles and
teachings of O’ Sensei, the Great
Teacher, as spread by Hombu Dojo,
Aikido World Headquarters, Tokyo, Japan. (“Ueshiba Traditional Aikido”). Thus, Musubi
Aikido propagates “UESHIBA Traditional
Aikido” only.
“Traditional Aikido” has a profound meaning to a
determined and conscientious Aikido practitioner.
A regular and rigid practice and training of “Traditional Aikido” ensures not merely a changed person but an improved and empowered person.

Ever since, the main dojo of Musubi Aikido is frequently visited by Aikido practitioners from aikido groups/dojos here in the Philippines, not only to attend the practice (keiko) but to undergo review in
preparation for their kyu and dan
grade examinations.
Quality of the practice especially the
techniques is the main concern of “Musubi
Aikido”. Clearly, “Musubi Aikido” is aware
that the quantity of Aikido students may
be affected by this vital concern but
“Musubi Aikido” cannot compromise the
quality of “Ueshiba Traditional Aikido”
practice which is truly patterned from
Hombu Dojo, presently headed by Doshu,
Moriteru Ueshiba.
As promised to Hombu, Musubi Aikido will only promote the spirit of Aikido established by the founder, Ueshiba Morihei and basic principles concerning the dissemination of Aikido as
instituted by Hombu. -- CHNB

Humility, patience, sensitivity, and more importantly a growing realization of one’s actions and their
consequences, are just some of the essential sanguine end products of Traditional Aikido.
Considering the rapid increase of Aikido dojos and groups here in the Philippines, “Musubi Aikido” was likewise formed to serve as a “knot” or “tie” among existing groups recognized by Hombu Dojo by promoting friendly relationship among aikido practitioners. Hence, the term “Musubi”.
“Musubi” is the Japanese term for “knot” or “tie”. In “Ueshiba Traditional Aikido”, it is the concept of link between the attacker and defender permitting the smooth execution of techniques.
Since its inception, therefore, “Musubi Aikido” dojos and affiliates are open to all “Ueshiba Traditional Aikido” practitioners. All trainings at Musubi Dojos are rigid.
